Kroger 'Pink Tag' Campaign to Raise $2.5 Million for Breast Cancer Awareness

CINCINNATI - Partnering with vendors and suppliers to support National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, The Kroger Co. based here will display pink tags throughout its family of stores again this year.

Beginning this weekend, Kroger will display pink tags on shelves in its stores across the country to identify participating products customers can purchase to support breast cancer awareness in their community. Several of Kroger's vendor partners have created special packaging to support the campaign. In addition, six Kroger employees who are breast cancer survivors will share their experiences on specially-marked Kellogg products.

"This cause is important to our customers and associates and we are honored to do our part to provide support to help educate women about early detection, diagnosis and treatment," said David B. Dillon, Kroger chairman and c.e.o.

Participating vendor partners include Campbell's, Coca-Cola's Powerade and Minute Maid brands, General Mills products under the Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and Green Giant labels, and Kraft products. Many of Kroger's own corporate brand items, including several products under its exclusive Private Selection line, will also have pink tags.

Kroger and its vendor partners have committed to raise $2.5 million during the campaign to support breast cancer research and awareness in communities across the country where Kroger customers and associates live and work.
