Kroger to Offer Interpreters via Live Video at 4 Pharmacies
CINCINNATI - Kroger Co. is crossing the language barrier at four of its pharmacy locations, where it plans to provide real-time, on-demand video interpretation services seven days a week connecting customers with live interpreters.
The retailer is working with Language Access Network Inc., Columbus, Ohio, using its Martti (My Accessible Real-Time Trusted Interpreter) system which provides live interpretation services in languages that include American Sign Language (ASL), Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Somali, and Spanish. The grocer will offer interpretation in more than 150 languages.

"Using Martti, Kroger's pharmacists will be able to provide drug counseling and answer questions in the customer's preferred language with the simple push of a button," said Michael Guirlinger, c.e.o. of Language Access Network.
Language Access Network Inc. provides pharmacies and medical facilities with professionally trained interpreters through a centralized video language center via real-time, interactive video technology.
