Kroger Makes Finance Appointments

Cindy Holmes has been appointed director of investor relations and Carin Fike has been appointed director and assistant treasurer at the Kroger Co., effective March 6.

Fike will report to Kroger Treasurer Scott Henderson; Holmes will report to CFO J. Michael Schlotman.

Holmes began her career with Kroger in 1990 in the Information Systems and Services department, and for the past 10 years has served as the company’s assistant treasurer. In that capacity, she was responsible for managing banking relationships, managing treasury operations including cash forecasting, analyzing and selecting borrowing and investment options, negotiating and managing a $2 billion credit facility, and participating in the issuance of long-term debt and derivatives. She also worked in capital management and is a member of Kroger’s pension investment committee.

Fike began her career with Kroger in 1999 and has served as the company’s director of investor relations since 2003. She was recently named the best investor relations officer in the grocery and retail drug industry by both the buy side and sell side in the 2010 Institutional Investor magazine rankings. She began her professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and is a certified public accountant.

“Both Carin and Cindy have made significant contributions over the years in their respective positions at Kroger, and I look forward to their continued contributions in their new positions within the corporate finance department,” Schlotman said.

Cincinnati-based Kroger operates 2,461 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banner names including Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Jay C, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s.
