Kroger Lowers Prices in N.C. Triangle Market

The Kroger Co. embarked on its second price refresh in as many years throughout the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, N.C. Triangle market, where it operates 14 stores. The nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer lowered prices on thousands of items in several commodities including produce, meat, organics, natural foods and general merchandise.

“We understand that price is important to customers when they are deciding where to purchase food and essential items, so Kroger stores across the region are working to create a better shopping experience,” said Carl York, advertising and public relations manager for Kroger’s Roanoke, Va.-based Mid-Atlantic marketing region. “We stand behind our commitment to offer our customers the products they want and the friendly, top notch, fast service they deserve.”

In addition to the price reductions, Kroger will continue to tout its additional money-saving initiatives, including its fuel program that enables customers to save up to $1 off a gallon at its fuel centers; $4 and $10 prescriptions; weekly specials; and themed events. Having eliminated double-coupons in all but one of its geographic marketing territories, Kroger will continue to expand digital coupons on its website and will offer coupon redemptions at face value.

Kroger Mid-Atlantic operates 14 stores throughout the Triangle, including Apex (1), Cary (1), Garner (1), Fuquay-Varina (1), Raleigh (4) and Durham (6). This division of the nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer has 118 stores, 113 pharmacies and 75 fuel centers in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and the eastern portions of Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.
