Kroger Exec Jason Lazor Dies at 36

Jason M. Lazor, senior marketing manager for Kroger's south region, died over the weekend after falling 200 feet from Red River Gorge in Central Kentucky. He was 36 years old.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, Lazor suffered blunt force trauma after losing his footing and slipping from the gorge's Chimney Top Rock, Wolfe County Deputy Coroner Gary Sparks told the Cincinnati Enquirer. He was dead by the time the search and rescue team was able to reach him. Lazor had been camping in the area with a group of friends, the Enquirer reported.

"The entire Kroger family is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Jason Lazor," Keith Daily, Kroger's corporate communications director, told Progressive Grocer. "He was a well-respected colleague and a friend to countless associates. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason’s family, friends and colleagues."
