Kroger Central Div., GM Team Up for Hospital Fundraiser
The Kroger Co.’s Indianapolis-based Central Division is partnering with General Mills for one of its largest fundraising campaigns of the year to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
The campaign, now its 27th year, invites customers and associates across Kroger Central Division’s 103 Scott’s, Owens and Pay Less stores in Indiana to donate $1 or $3 to the Indianapolis-based Riley Hospital through August 6th. Customers making donation will receive a balloon to display and a $4 packet of coupons from partner vendor General Mills.
Kroger’s 2010 campaign raised $207,586 for the hospital, which exceeded the previous record set in 2009.
As partner of the fundraiser, General Mills will also be selling a specially-designed two pack of Cheerios and Trix cereals with a special wrap telling the Riley story during the campaign. For each $5 package sold, General Mills will donate $1 to Riley Hospital.
“Our work for the children and families served by Riley Hospital generates more passionate employee volunteerism than any other event we are involved in,” said Bob Moeder, president of Kroger’s Central Division. “Riley Hospital is an extremely impressive health care institution and we were very pleased to focus our efforts on helping the hospital raise critical funds to help children across the region, nationally and even globally."
