Kroger Among Finalists for New Loyalty Awards

The Kroger Co. has been nominated for a first-ever awards program honoring customer-focused loyalty initiatives in the United States and Canada.

Colloquy, a global provider of loyalty publications, education and research, has revealed 15 finalists in its inaugural Colloquy Loyalty Awards, the first that invite members of the loyalty industry itself to determine the final winners, through Colloquy’s 38,000 subscribers. The event is the highlight of a yearlong celebration of the 20th anniversary of Colloquy.

Cincinnati-based Kroger is one of three nominees for the Loyalty Innovation in Retail Award; the other contenders are Godiva Chocolatier and the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. The other four award categories are Master of Enterprise, Loyalty Innovation in Financial Services, Loyalty Innovation in Travel/Hospitality and Innovation in Loyalty Marketing.

Voting opened June 15 and will continue through Friday, July 23. All members of the loyalty industry in the United States and Canada are encouraged to participate, though voters must be Colloquy subscribers. The winners will be presented at an awards ceremony Sept. 16, during the 8th annual Colloquy Loyalty Summit in Phoenix.

“The awards are a tribute to the best loyalty innovations in North America,” said Colloquy partner Kelly Hlavinka, “those groundbreaking efforts in marketing communications that transform customer purchases into relevant experiences through analytical insights.”

Almost 50 entries were submitted for the combined awards. The finalists were selected by a jury of 10 loyalty thought leaders. The winners will be ranked on a scale of one to 10 across a number of categories.
