Kroger Adds Healthnotes Content to Corporate and Division Websites

PORTLAND, Ore. - Healthnotes Inc. (HNI), provider of health and lifestyle information, today announced it is providing content on a wide range of health and wellness issues to The Kroger Co. for use on its corporate and division Web sites.

The Health Guide, powered by Healthnotes, is available under the "Pharmacy & Health" link on Kroger's Web sites beginning today.

"As more and more consumers turn to the Internet to research health and wellness, it is becoming increasingly important that they have trustworthy information available to them," stated Schuyler Lininger, HNI president and CEO. "By featuring Healthnotes content on its Web site, Kroger is providing customers with science-based, reliable information to help them make confident decisions about their health."

Kroger's Web sites feature Healthnotes Healthchecker and Safetychecker. Healthchecker is a comprehensive resource that answers the most commonly asked questions on more than 170 health concerns and provides science-based information on vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies. Safetychecker provides vital information on more than 10,500 potential interactions between supplements and frequently used prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Web site visitors can access and print the articles free of charge.

"Kroger is always looking for innovative ways to satisfy the needs of our customers," said Michael Donnelly, Kroger group vice president. "One way we can achieve that is by providing them with easy-to-understand information at their fingertips, so that they can make informed buying decisions."
