Kraft Foodservice Brands Vie for World Championship
Three signature Kraft brands will be title sponsors at the World Food Championships scheduled for Nov. 1-4 at Bally’s Las Vegas: A.1 Steak Sauce, Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard.
The World Food Championships will bring culinary champions from all walks of life into one arena to compete for a share of the $300,000 prize purse. Using a hybrid of sanctioned, celebrity and customized judging processes, the championships will identify winners in seven key categories of divisional cooking competitions, culminating in a “Final Table” face-off judged by celebrity food experts, including Adam Richman, star of the Travel Channel’s “Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America” and “Man v Food: Nation.”
Of those Kraft brands, A.1 Steak Sauce will be the title sponsor for the World Burger Championship on Nov. 2. Philly Cream Cheese will be the title sponsor for the World Side-Dish Championship on Nov. 3, the same day that Grey Poupon will be the title sponsor for the World Sandwich Championship.
“Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard, A.1 Steak Sauce and Philadelphia Cream Cheese are such beloved American brands that we are honored to play a role in this event which brings together such talented cooks and contestants from all over the world,” said Terri Tamburo, category director of marketing at Kraft Foodservice. “We are really looking forward to seeing some truly unique and inspired dishes throughout the competitions.”
The 2012 WFC categories will feature classic American cuisine: barbecue, chili, burgers, sandwiches, side dishes, the World Recipe Championship featuring winners of online recipe contests and a World Chef Challenge open to some of the best chefs from America’s greatest food cities.
