Koch Joins Weis As VP/Fresh Merchandising

Dan Koch has joined Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis Markets as its new VP of fresh merchandising, where he will oversee the full spectrum of the regional retailer’s meat, produce, bakery, deli/foodservice, seafood and floral operations.

Most recently most recently VP of deli/foodservice/bakery for Schenectady, N.Y.-based Price Chopper, Koch will report to Kurt Schertle, Weis Market’s SVP of sales and merchandising. Prior to that, Koch previously held various store operations and perishable merchandising positions for Fresh Brands, Fleming and Supervalu.

Weis Markets operates 162 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and West Virginia.
