Kings Food Markets Tees off to End Hunger
Kings Food Markets’ second anual Charity Golf Classic, which benefits its “Act to End Hunger” initiative, is set for Thursday, Aug. 16. The tournament unites Kings and its industry partners to raise funds for programs providing hunger relief in communities throughout New Jersey and New York.
“It is imperative for us, as an organization and as an industry, to continue to find ways in which we can help eradicate hunger in our communities, and we appreciate that our partners share a passion for this cause as well,” said Judy Spires, president and CEO of Parsippany, N.J.-based Kings, which operates 24 stores in north and central New Jersey and New York’s Long Island.
Scheduled to take place at the Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon Valley, N.J., the event will offer brunch, a cocktail hour, a buffet dinner and an award presentation recognizing community leaders’ efforts to combat hunger. Attendees will additionally enjoy complimentary green fees and use of a power cart.
Early-bird sponsorships for the Classic include hole sponsorship, registration for a foursome and individual tickets. All proceeds from the tournament will go to help raise hunger relief awareness and education all year long. Among the past organizations that have benefited from the annual event are Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW), Center for Food Action, Table to Table and The Salvation Army.
“Events such as the Classic are only possible through the participation and generous support of our sponsors,” noted Dan McGivney, the event’s chair for Kings. “It is because of that generosity that we are able to provide hope and crucial services to those in need in our communities.”
