King Arthur Flour Sponsors Baking Contests at Fairs Nationwide

King Arthur Flour will sponsor baking contests at more than 60 fairs around the country this year. America's oldest flour company will provide recipes and prizes for winning home bakers in at least 28 states.

“Baking inspiration and education are important parts of our mission at King Arthur Flour, and sponsoring baking competitions around the country is one small way we can encourage home bakers to get creative with their craft,” noted Tom Payne, marketing director of the Norwich, Vt.-based company. “We appreciate the unique ideas and genuine enthusiasm people bring with them to these contests.”

King Arthur Flour will sponsor baking contests including the Tunbridge World's Fair in Tunbridge, Vt., the Minnesota State Fair and the Oregon State Fair -- over 60 competitions in all for junior and adult bakers. A list of fairs is available at www.kingarthurflour.com. In addition, the company is the title sponsor of the first-ever National Festival of Breads, which will hold its finals in Wichita, Kan., in June.
