K-VA-T/Food City Bows Pharmacy Card Savings Plan

Food City, the grocery chain operated by K-VA-T Food Stores in Abingdon,Va. here, said it recently launched the ValuCard Pharmacy Savings Plan, a prescription discount program that enables pharmacy customers to purchase more than 400 commonly prescribed generic items for only $4.

Customers simply present their Food City ValuCard and prescription at any Food City Pharmacy, and if the prescription is among the 400 generic items on the Savings Plan list, their price will be $4 for a 30-day supply. If the prescription is for a maintenance medication from the Savings Plan list, they'll receive a 60-day supply for $7.75 or a 90-day supply for $11.50.

K-VA-T operates 96 retail food outlets and 68 pharmacies in the tri-state regions of southeast Kentucky, southwest Virginia, and northeast Tennessee.
