K-VA-T Expands Prepaid Offerings

K-VA-T Food Stores and InComm have entered into a partnership in which, starting this month, InComm's prepaid solutions, which include both closed- and open-loop gift card products, will be sold all 106 K-VA-T locations. The company operates stores under the Food City and Super Dollar Discount Foods banners in the tristate regions of southeast Kentucky, southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee.

“InComm is dedicated to providing our partners with the highest-quality product available," said Tom Solomon, VP sales at Atlanta-based InComm. “Program customization and technological innovations will improve the overall shopping experience for K-VA-T's customers.”

The vendor is furnishing the Abingdon, Va.-based grocery chain with a selection of closed- and open-loop gift cards, in addition to general-purpose reloadable debit cards, access to ticket/theme park programs, no-contract wireless products, and long-distance calling cards. Among the future to be offered at K-VA-T are financial centers featuring a full range of products along with a hands-on consultative experience for customers.

As an incentive to its shoppers, K-VA-T will additionally include the prepaid products in the company’s “Fuel Bucks” program, which enables customers to earn points toward discounted gas.

“K-VA-T prides itself on offering our customers the products they need,” noted Chris Smith , the grocer’s director of video/general merchandise. “Through this new partnership with InComm, we are able to provide consumers with numerous convenient payment options. From entertainment to dining and long-distance phone calls, our new plan gives K-VA-T customers access to the best prepaid products available.”
