Judge Approves $23.4 Million to Reorganize Winn-Dixie
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Funk approved about $23.4 million in fees and expenses late last week for those working to reorganize the bankrupt retailer Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. here.
The judge also named a fee examiner to keep track of the fees charged by the law firms and consultants working with Winn-Dixie.
In August Funk approved fees and expenses of $15 million that began in February and ended in May. The latest approval covered expenses for the period between June 1 and Sept. 30.
Winn-Dixie reported a net loss of $691 million in fiscal year 2005, compared with a $51 million loss in 2004.
