Joe Kelley Departs Stop & Shop New England
Joe Kelley has departed from his post as president of Ahold USA's Stop & Shop New England division to pursue other opportunities, according to the company.
Don Sussman, division president, Stop & Stop New York Metro, will also oversee the Stop & Shop New England division on an interim basis until a replacement for Kelley is named.
Kelley joined Stop & Shop in May 2012 from his role as chairman, president and CEO of Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets. Prior to working at Marsh, Kelley was EVP at Price Chopper, where he joined in 2005 as the VP of sales, merchandising and marketing, and was promoted four times over five years. Kelley also previously held leadership roles at Bozzuto's, Adams Hometown Markets in Connecticut, A&P and Purity Supreme.
Ahold's Stop & Shop New England division is headquartered in Quincy, Mass., and operates approximately 220 stores across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
