Jewel-Osco Promoting 'Shamrocks for Kids' Benefit
CHICAGO - Jewel-Osco and Mercy Home for Boys & Girls here are asking residents here to support its 2007 Shamrocks for Kids campaign that will benefit abused, neglected, and troubled children. Shamrocks for Kids is a yearly, St. Patrick's-Day-themed awareness and fundraising campaign that helps support the young people at Mercy Home.
Donations will be solicited during the parade routes of the South Side Irish Parade on Sunday, March 11, and the Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade, on Saturday, March 17, as well as at several other locations throughout Chicagoland through St. Patrick's Day, March 17. The public can also help kids this month by shopping at local Jewel-Osco stores and purchasing select Kellogg's and Edy's products. From March 1 through March 28, the suppliers will donate ten cents from each item sold directly to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.
