Jennifer Forkish Named CGA's Dir. of Local Government Relations

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Jennifer Forkish has been named director of local government relations for the California Grocers Association, where she will oversee the association's local government relations program and specifically advocate for CGA members before local elected and regulatory officials throughout Southern California. Tim James will continue representing CGA in Northern California.

"Because of her experience and knowledge of Southern California local government, Jennifer is the perfect fit for the Association," said CGA president Peter Larkin. "In addition, her extensive experience in the fast-paced and demanding nature of the L.A. media market is a real plus."

Prior to joining CGA, Forkish was communications director for Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis P. Zine. She also was a field representative for Assembly member Lloyd Levine James (D-Van Nuys).

Forkish will work from CGA's Long Beach satellite office and joins Tim James, manager, local government relations for Northern California. She replaces Gilbert Canizales who recently accepted a position with Anheuser-Busch, Inc.
