Jax Markets C.E.O. MacAloney Named Eco-Safe Spokesman
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Bill MacAloney, president and c.e.o. of community-based independent Jax Markets, was named grocery industry spokesman for Eco-Safe Systems, a provider of ozone food-safety and water-purity intervention systems with services ranging from food disinfection to water reclamation and water desalinization.
"Bill MacAloney uses the Eco-Safe Ozone Water Disinfection System in his grocery chain,” said Michael Elliot, president of Eco-Safe. “He’s extremely enthusiastic about evangelizing the increased customer safety and the real cost savings from ozone water disinfection."
MacAloney has served for 14 years on the board of the Western Association of Food Chains, including a term as chairman, as well as chairing the board of the Certified Grocers of California, and the national Food Marketing Institute, where he currently sits on the board. He helped start the Mexican-American Grocers Association and served as its vice chair, and was chair of the Southern California Grocer Association, which has become the California Grocers Association.
MacAloney has also enjoyed a successful four-year term as mayor of his hometown of Anaheim, and was appointed by Gov. Schwarzenegger to the California Board of Accountancy in 2006.
