It’s a Gas!

The Kroger Co. will hit a milestone this week when the Cincinnati-based grocer opens its 1,000th fuel center.

The gas station – at Kroger’s banner store on Pettit Road in Ft. Wayne, Ind. – is also the company’s sixth fuel center in the Ft. Wayne region. Executives from Kroger’s Central Division will join local dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the station on Wednesday morning.

As part of the 1,000th fuel center celebration, Kroger will donate free fuel to several community organizations and announce savings opportunities for Fort Wayne-area customers.

Kroger operates 2,468 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banner names including Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Jay C, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s.
