Italian Retailer Iperal to Install Consumer Messaging System

SONDRIO, Italy -- Italian retail group Iperal, which includes the chains Iperal, Sermark, Marmarket, and Gran Mercato, plans to install a new merchandising signage solution to enhance its in-store promotions.

The retailer is using Web dSignShop from Seattle-based AccessVia, which will be installed by Italian reseller Inetic.

"With this project we are sure to improve the quality of our promotional communications in our stores, especially in regard to our responsiveness and efficiency," said Alessandro Pizzen, advertising manger for Gruppo Iperal. "At the same time we will be optimizing the effectiveness of our internal advertising processes."

With Web dSignShop, Iperal will use its corporate intranet to provide access to batches of centrally generated signs. To print their signs, store associates access the Web site. No software is installed at the store level. The retailer's IT and marketing teams will maintain control of design and real-time item data to insure consistency, accuracy, and quality using pre-designed templates among all of its stores.

The Iperal group operates more than 40 supermarkets and hypermarkets.
