IGA Names New Area Director To Support Western U.S.

CHICAGO -- Terry Carr has joined IGA USA here as a new area director for the western United States. Reporting to Doug Fritsch, IGA s.v.p./retail and business development, Carr joins a team of four existing IGA area directors who work in the field to support IGA's retailers.

A 20-year grocery industry operations and customer relations veteran, Carr will serve as liaison between IGA USA and its wholesale and retail members, ensuring that the retailers receive the maximum benefit from IGA's programs and the IGA brand.

Carr spent the bulk of his grocery industry career working in various positions within Fleming Cos., Inc., advancing from positions such as product development manager to a series of upper-level management duties. In 2001 he assumed his final position within the company as president of Fleming's Phoenix division.

In 2002 Carr purchased Pinnacle Business Systems, an Edmond, Okla.-based technology solution company, where he implemented operational and sales initiatives that resulted in a threefold increase in company revenues.

"With his years of experience working closely with retailers, we have no doubt that Terry will contribute effectively to our mission to strengthen and grow the IGA brand in the western U.S.," said Fritsch.
