Hy-Vee, Chef Garcia to Discuss Latino Dietary Needs

Spurred by the prevalence of diabetes and heart disease in the Hispanic community, Hy-Vee has spearheaded initiatives to market and engage Latino shoppers with healthier food options.

In a must-attend session at this year’s Hispanic Retail 360 Summit, chef Alex Garcia of Culinary Habana in Los Angeles and Stacey Loftus , dietitian at West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee Supermarkets, will demonstrate recipes and marketing initiatives focused on meeting the specific dietary concerns of Latino consumers. Loftus and Garcia will discuss food substitutions and solutions for healthy eating, as well as give attendees culinary tips to enhance the plate.

The 8th Annual Hispanic Retail 360 Summit, being held Aug. 15-17, at JW Marriott at LA Live in Los Angeles, is produced by Stagnito Media, publishers of Convenience Store News, Progressive Grocer, The Gourmet Retailer, Progressive Grocer Store Brands and Retail Leader magazines.
