Hy-Vee Celebrates 75th Anniversary with $75,000 Kitchen Makeover Contest
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Hy-Vee here is kicking off its year-long 75th anniversary celebration by giving away a $75,000 "dream kitchen."
The Hy-Vee $75,000 Kitchen Makeover, presented by Kraft, will reward one grand prize winner with the kitchen of his or her dreams. Customers are invited to submit entries of 100 words or less telling why their kitchens deserve a makeover. The entry deadline is April 19.
The winner will receive a professional kitchen renovation -- including design advice and new fixtures, appliances, cabinets, countertops, flooring, wall and window treatments, and more.
The $75,000 Kitchen Makeover is just the first of several promotional activities Hy-Vee plans to celebrate its 75th year in business. The company has just released "75 Years of a Helpful Smile," a coffee-table-style book chronicling the company's history from its 1930 founding to the present. Later this summer, Hy-Vee will team with Coca-Cola on a promotion to give away five Volkswagon convertibles, and Hy-Vee's "Brands For Grands" program will expand this year to include top weekly prizes of $25,000 for customers who buy Hy-Vee brand products.
The biggest promotion of all will get under way this fall, when Hy-Vee launches its "Smiles For Education" program. Over a period of 10 weeks, the company expects to donate up to $750,000 to schools throughout its seven-state operating area.
