Hormel Restructures Protein Biz Leadership

AUSTIN, Minn. -- Hormel Foods Corp. has made changes in the structure and leadership of its protein businesses, appointing Gary Ray, former e.v.p./refrigerated products, as new president, protein businesses.

In his new capacity, Ray will oversee all of Hormel Foods' protein businesses, including Hormel Foods refrigerated products, Jennie-O Turkey Store and Farmer John.

"This is an ideal opportunity to capitalize on Gary's unparalleled knowledge and experience in the protein business," said Jeffrey Ettinger, Hormel’s chairman, president and c.e.o.

Ettinger said the new structure “will provide greater focus, fresh perspective and enhanced coordination across the company's diverse protein businesses."

In addition, Steven G. Binder, former group v.p./foodservice, was named group v.p./refrigerated products. In his new position, he will assume broader responsibilities for the company's refrigerated products operations, including meat products, foodservice, fresh pork, Saag's and Dan's Prize.

Also, Thomas R. Day, v.p./foodservice, was named s.v.p./foodservice, with responsibilities for all of Hormel’s foodservice sales and marketing functions, while Deanna T. Brady, former foodservice regional sales manager/west, was named v.p./foodservice sales.
