HEB's Opens 10th HEB Plus Unit
LEANDER, Texas - This Texas town of about 24,000 had not had a major grocery store, until now. San Antonio-based H.E. Butt Grocery Co. is today opening a 144,000-square-foot HEB Plus here, the latest and tenth unit under the HEB Plus banner.
The format is the regional grocer's answer to consumers' one-stop-shopping needs. Besides merchandising a full complement of HEB's trademark fresh products and grocery items, the store sells DVDs, furniture, and home improvement products. It sports an auto department and a garden center.
It also offers Cafe Spoonz, a department that provides freshly prepared meals and other take-home offerings.
The store has 24 check-out lanes.
