HEB Opens New Warehouse
SAN ANTONIO -- Regional player HEB Grocery Co. here has opened a new warehouse in Weslaco, Texas that will serve the Rio Grande Valley and south Texas as far as San Antonio and Corpus Christi, according to local press reports.
HEB called the new 400,000-square-foot warehouse a "Retail Support Center-Regional Dry Grocery Facility," similar to another warehouse in Houston.
The new warehouse and truck terminal, along with a new HEB store built nearby, were first announced by a Weslaco city planning official in 1998. The supermarket opened in 2000.
