Heartland Soups and Marsha's Marvelous Enter Into Strategic Alliance
SAN FRANCISCO -- Heartland Soups, based here, and South San Francisco-based Marsha's Marvelous have entered into a strategic alliance to combine sales, marketing, and distribution of their fresh soups in the San Francisco Bay area.
Marsha's Marvelous, which has been in the soup business for 21 years, has a well-established logistics system and customer base. The strategic alliance will streamline logistics and operations, and allow Heartland's sales force to sell Marsha's Marvelous products to new accounts.
"The individual strengths of each company are very complementary," said Gerry Luckham, president and co-owner of GAL Foods, parent company of Marsha's Marvelous. "Given the commitment of both companies to fresh, healthy food, it seems a fit as natural as the food we make."
Charles Zimmer, Heartland's founder and chief soup officer added: "This alliance between our two companies allows us to grow synergistically. With Marsha's line of salads and entrees, we can offer a full line of natural, healthy foods to foodservice accounts and grocery stores."
