Harris Teeter’s Morganthall, ShopRite’s Jeff Brown to Present at SJU Food Industry Summit

Saint Joseph’s University (SJU), a leading institution in food marketing education, will host the fourth annual Food Industry Summit on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Titled “Meeting the Challenges of Today's Food Marketplace: Lessons from Industry Leaders,” this year’s summit will take place at the Philadelphia-based SJU’s Haub School of Business. A venue for food industry CEOs and presidents to present their insights on major issues and trends facing our business, the event is attended by food industry executives and decision makers from around the country, offering both an excellent informational and networking opportunity.

“Since its inception, the summit has become a forum for thought leadership in the food industry,” said Mark Lang of SJU’s Food Marketing Department. “For over 45 years, we have been educating undergraduate and graduate students, performing research, supporting government initiatives, and leading discussions on key issues within the food industry.”

The 2010 Food Industry Summit is a full-day event that will feature several dynamic and influential executives from top food companies, including:
• Scott Young, Senior VP of Retail Sales, Coca Cola North America
• Andre Hawaux, President and COO, ConAgra
• Jeffrey Brown, President and CEO of Brown’s Super Stores, Inc.
• Fred Morganthall, President, Harris Teeter
• Pamela Bailey, President, Grocery Marketing Association

The event will also be kicked off with an opening discussion by Mike Salzberg, president of Campbell Sales Co.

The $250 attendance fee includes continental breakfast and lunch.
