Harris Teeter, Pro Football Player Debut Sub Sandwich

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Spectrum at Town Center Harris Teeter in Reston, Va., Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo will be on hand to bow his custom-designed Signature Sub Sandwich, which has been dubbed “The Rak Attack.”

For $3.99, Matthews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter will offer the sandwich, which features Black Forest turkey, Virginia ham, white American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, black olives, onions, spicy mustard, ranch dressing, and salt and pepper on a wheat sub roll. For $4.49, shoppers can get a lunch pack consisting of The Rak Attack half sub and a choice of one Chocolate Chunk, Macadamia Nut, Oatmeal Raisin or Cranberry Nut Cookie.

The sandwich will be sold in the Fresh Foods Market Sandwich Shop in all D.C. metro and northern Virginia Harris Teeter stores. During his appearance at the Reston store, Orakpo will personally introduce shoppers and fans to The Rak Attack, and sign autographs.

Harris Teeter’s Fresh Foods Market offers made-to-order sandwiches daily, in addition to Signature Sub Sandwiches created in honor of popular athletes on local pro teams. More Signature Subs from Redskins players are planned to roll out this season, and team merchandise is available for customers to buy at area stores.
