Harris Teeter Participates in Mass Connections' New School Fundraising Program

MATTHEWS, N.C. - Harris Teeter is going back to school for its latest in-store promotions, thanks to a new fundraising campaign developed by Cerritos, Calif.-based Mass Connections, a leading retail marketing services company.

In recent weeks, Harris Teeter stores in Alexandria, Va. and Germantown, Md. hosted "Mini Taste of Teeter" events that included representatives from local high schools. These "event personnel" shared samplings of products including chocolate syrup, baby spinach salad, sockeye salmon fillets, and more.

Mass Connections' new program allows high school students, teachers, and parents to conduct in-store events in local grocery stores. The monies earned are sent directly to the school program of their choice.

For every in-store event completed, each individual will earn $60, according to Mass Connections.

"The success of our children's education is paramount," said Mass Connections president and c.e.o., Caroline Cotten Nakken. "With this program, Mass Connections is able to empower students, teachers, and parents to financially help their school programs while zgaining invaluable job experience."

Working in conjunction with local area high school counselors, Mass Connections plans to expand the program for client retailers throughout the United States. Interested students, teachers, and counselors are required to register on Mass Connections' recruitment site -- www.staying-connected.com -- then sign a waiver so the monies earned are properly distributed, as well as a parental permission slip if the student is under 18.
