Hannaford Offers Kitchen Makeover, Wine Tasting to Celebrate Store Reopening
SCARBOROUGH, Maine -- One way that Hannaford Supermarkets here is marking the reopening of its expanded Damariscotta, Maine store tomorrow is to give customers the opportunity to register at the location to win a kitchen makeover from Newcastle, Maine-based Homeport Supply worth $6,500. Additionally, drawings for Hannaford gift cards will be conducted daily through Sept. 15. The kitchen makeover winner will be announced on Sept. 22.
The 57,000-square-foot store includes a 23,000-square-foot addition. Among the new features are Nature's Place, Hannaford's natural and organic products department; a full-service Butcher Shop offering such fare as seasoned meats and poultry that are ready to cook and serve; a "Neighborhood Deli" that has been expanded to include a sushi bar and panini sandwiches; a "Harvest Market" that now also offers a broad assortment of freshly cut melon; and a separate pharmacy entrance for customer convenience.
Also in celebration of the reopening, a wine sampling is scheduled for Sept. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. Hosted by Meridian Vineyards, the event will highlight the greatly expanded wine department at the Damariscotta store by featuring four varieties of Meridian wines from California’s central coast.
The store’s wine department stocks monthly featured wines that are just 10 dollars a bottle or less and offers a "Limited Reserve" section that has been enlarged to include an additional thirty-two varieties usually found in specialty wine shops and ranging in price from $10 to $100.
Delhaize-owned Hannaford Bros. Co. operates 158 stores under the Hannaford Supermarket and Hannaford Supermarket and Pharmacy banners. Hannaford employs over 26,000 associates.
