H-E-B Hosts Houston Public Library Card Sign-Up Drive
H-E-B is sponsoring the Houston Public Library's (HPL) My Link Library Card Sign-Up Campaign, which aims to encourage residents to sign up for -- or renew their existing -- library card accounts.
Running through next year, the campaign's goal is to convert all existing cardholders to the new MY Link Library Card and to increase total cardholders to 1 million. H-E-B's funding will support the overall campaign and ensure production of the cards.
"H-E-B has always held literacy and education close to the heart of its business and is proud to partner with the Houston Public Library to empower all Houstonians with free access to unprecedented opportunities for life-long learning and connecting," said Winell Herron, H-E-B group VP, public affairs, diversity and environmental affairs.
In support of the campaign, HPL held a series of events on Sept. 13 and Sept. 17, at which customers who registered for a new My Link Library Card were entered to win one of five iPad Minis. Winners will be invited to join HPL as special guests at the Houston LibroFEST on Sept. 27.
