Golub/Price Chopper Names Distribution Director
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Golub Corp./Price Chopper Supermarkets said yesterday that Ralph Lewis had been promoted to the position of director of distribution services, reporting directly to Ron Cellupica, v.p. of distribution and transportation.
In his new role, Lewis will handle industrial engineering, inventory control, equipment maintenance, materials handling, project management, and systems administration for the Northeastern regional chain.
An employee of Price Chopper since 1965, Lewis has held various positions at the company, among them produce manager, store manager, project manager, and most recently, manager of distribution.
The Golub Corp. owns and operates 110 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The family-owned company employs more than 23,000 associates who collectively own 55 percent of Golub's privately held stock.
