GMA Gets New Director, 23 New Member Companies

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.V. -- The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) said yesterday that Michael B. Polk, president of Unilever Americas, was elected to its board of directors at its annual meeting held in conjunction with the GMA Executive Conference here. The trade group additionally welcomed 23 new member companies.

"Strong board leadership is critical to the advancement of GMA's ambitious public policy, industry affairs, and scientific goals," noted GMA president and c.e.o. Cal Dooley. "Our membership will certainly benefit from the experience and insight that Mike will bring to the boardroom."

The companies added to GMA's general membership ranks are Aurora Organic Dairy; Kettle Foods, Inc.; MaMa Rosa's, LLC; Michelina's Inc.; and Villalba Canning Co. Yum! Brands, Inc. became an affiliate member, while Agile Software; AOL; Avery Dennison RFID; BearingPoint Inc.; DSM Nutrition; EHS Partners, LLC; Freight Handlers, Inc.; Jones-Hamilton Co.; MEB Consulting; NPD Group; Praxair, Inc.; QAD, Inc.; RHR International; Shook, Hardy & Bacon, LLP; T3Ci; Terra Technology; and Weber Distribution were among the companies named associate members.

"This influx of new members speaks not only to the value proposition of GMA membership, but to the commitment of the industry to GMA's mission of creating value for consumers," said Dooley.

The GMA board of directors consists of c.e.o.'s from the association's member companies.
