Girl Scouts Honor ShopRite Operator

The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern Jersey has presented its Girl Scout Partner award to Shawn Ravitz, VP of administration at Cherry Hill, N.J.-based Ravitz Family Markets, which operates five ShopRite stores in the Garden State’s Burlington and Camden counties. The award recognizes a male recipient who demonstrates high achievement in his profession and is active in his community, who motivates and supports others, and who has shown a commitment to furthering female leadership.

Cookies and More

For many years, Ravitz Family Markets has backed the annual Girl Scout cookie sale and the organization’s mission to empower girls to reach their fullest potential. “They are an extraordinary part of our community that I am proud to be associated with,” Ravitz said of the organization upon receiving his award.

As well as managing Ravitz Family Markets’ corporate finances, consumer affairs, technology, engineering and labor relations, Ravitz (right) is treasurer of the Ravitz Family Foundation and helps to support a range of area nonprofits and community groups.

A member of Keasbey, N.J.-based retail cooperative Wakefern Food Corp., Ravitz Family Markets employs more than 1,100 associates.
