Giant/Martin's A+ School Rewards Program Points Launches Video Contest

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Students in grades K through 12 who attend schools in participating Giant Foods Stores and Martin's Food Markets operating areas have the opportunity to rack up additional A+ School Rewards points for their school by submitting a video to promote the Ahold banners' A+ School Rewards program.

The program enables local schools to earn cash for computers, sports equipment, band instruments, or any of their other educational needs. Each time customers shop using their BonusCard, Giant and Martin's donate 1 percent of participating customers' total purchases to designated schools. Since May 2005, over $3.1 million has been raised for schools taking part in the initiative.

Contest entries may be submitted in either the Schools or the Individuals category. Video entries must have a running time of no longer than 25 seconds. All video entries must be submitted in DVD, MiniDVD or Window Mediafile or Quicktime Movie on CD format, accompanied by an entry form. The deadline is Nov. 30. Complete rules and entry requirements are available at www.giantaplus.com or www.martinsaplus.com.

A total of two grand prize winners (one from each category) and eight first place prize winners (four from each category) will be chosen on or about Jan. 22, 2008, based on public voting results. Total prizes are worth $7,000.
