Giant-Landover Ups Gift Card Discount for Charities
LANDOVER, Md. -- Giant Food, LLC here said it has begun offering nonprofit organizations a 5 percent discount on Giant gift card orders of $1,000 or more as part of the retailer's fundraising scrip program.
The program lets charitable groups sell Giant gift cards at face value while raising money for their various causes. The initiative previously offered nonprofits a 4 percent discount on Giant gift card orders of $1,000 or more.
"Giant's fundraising scrip program is a great way to support our shared communities," said Giant's e.v.p. of operations, Jim Astuto, in a statement. "The program offers schools, sports clubs, youth groups, and other charitable organizations the perfect opportunity to raise money needed to achieve their goals."
To take part in the program, nonprofits can call Giant Customer Service at (888) 469-4426 to place their gift card order. The organizations can pick up the cards at any convenient Giant store.
Giant operates 184 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia, and employs about 21,000 associates. Included within the 184 stores are 165 full-service pharmacies.
