Giant-Landover Opening 50th Peapod Pickup Point
Giant Food LLC plans to host a celebration to mark the opening of its 50th Peapod Pickup location at the York Road Plaza Giant Food in Baltimore on May 20, from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
Scheduled events include a ribbon-cutting event with appearances from former Baltimore Ravens player Matt Stover, Ravens cheerleaders and team mascot Poe, along with Roma sausages on the grill and a complimentary bouquet of flowers for the first 50 customers to use the Peapod Pickup service.
Also in honor of the occasion, Landover, Md.-based Giant, a division of Ahold USA, will present $2,500 worth of gift cards to the Maryland Food Bank.
Peapod Offers Convenience
Offering customers the convenient option of ordering their groceries online and picking them up at no charge at a drive-through window, the service is now available at 50 Giant locations across Washington, D.C.; Maryland; Virginia; and Delaware. With no fee for next-day pickup and no minimum order size, customers are able to schedule their pickups in one-hour windows, seven days a week, and can earn points toward the Giant Gas Rewards and A+ School Rewards programs.
Giant operates 171 supermarkets and employs approximately 20,000 associates.
