Gerber Baby Food Pulled at Some Giant Stores After Glass Found in Container
CARLISLE, Pa. -- Twelve Giant Food stores removed a Gerber baby food variety from their shelves this week after a mother reportedly discovered a glass shard in a 3.5-ounce container of the food she purchased for her daughter at a Giant Food in Whitehall, Pa.
Giant Food spokeswoman Tracy Pawelski told Progressive Grocer, "Only one store was affected, but we took the additional precautionary measure of removing the Gerber 2nd Foods Banana & Orange Medley…from surrounding stores as well."
According to Gerber, which is looking into the matter, it has received no other complaints of glass in food.
Other Gerber products can be bought at Giant Food stores in the area, according to Pawelski.
