Gelson’s to Open Long Beach, Calif. Store Next Year

Arden Group, Inc.’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Gelson’s Markets, which currently operates 17 full-service supermarkets in Southern California, plans to open a store in Long Beach, Calif., having just entered into a lease agreement for a facility in that location.

While the development and actual opening of the location is subject to necessary governmental approvals, Gelson’s is scheduled to take possession of the property on March 1. The grocer plans to remodel the site extensively and anticipates opening a new supermarket at that location in late 2013.
