Garren Joins NSF Davis Fresh As Pres./GM
Donna Garren has joined NSF International's Watsonville, Calif.-based Davis Fresh division as its new as president/GM. In her new role, Garren will work closely with the NSF Davis Fresh team to verify safer, consistent produce practices utilizing NSF Davis Fresh’s technical expertise.
With 14 years of food industry experience under her belt, Garren most recently she served as VP/food safety programs for the Consumer Goods Forum, where she managed the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) activities in the North American region. Prior to that, Garren served as VP/health and safety regulatory affairs for the National Restaurant Association (NRA), and also previously spent six years as VP/scientific and technical affairs at the United Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association (United). Earlier in her career, Garren was the director of research & development and product safety at Boskovich Farms Inc.
Garren earned a doctorate degree in food science and technology from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in food science and nutrition with a minor in microbiology from Clemson University.
NSF International is an independent, not-for-profit public health and safety organization, while its NSF Davis Fresh group provides independent, third-party food safety food safety solutions to organizations throughout the supply chain, including growers, shippers, processors, distributors, and retailers.
