Fry's Signs On To Sponsor Komen Race for the Cure

PHOENIX -- The Kroger Co.'s Fry's subsidiary, based here, will serve as a corporate partner for the 13th annual Komen Race for the Cure, set for Oct. 9.

Fry's participation will help the Komen Phoenix affiliate fund programs that provide breast health education, and breast cancer screening and treatment services for the uninsured and underserved residents of Central and Northern Arizona.

"We look forward to standing strong with other local and national organizations in the fight to eradicate breast cancer, and promote better health awareness for all Arizona families," said Mike Donnelly, president of Fry's.

Fry's will promote the Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure with posters, race applications at its customer service desks, advertisements in local publications and in-store announcements. In September, the stores will begin selling pink ribbon mobiles, as well as breast cancer awareness merchandise.

The 13th Annual Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure features a one-mile family fun run and walk, as well as 5K competitive and non-competitive races for all skill levels. Entry fees begin at $18 per person.
