Fruit Center Marketplace to Host Local Chefs
Community-based independent Fruit Center Marketplace plans to bring in local restaurant chefs to its Hingham, Mass., store for a series of al fresco grilling demonstrations in location’s parking lot every other Saturday — rain or shine -- from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during June and July.
These culinary events are open to all shoppers and are free of charge. “Our stores are fully stocked with everything one could possibly need to jump into outdoor grilling season, from prime meats and condiments, to tongs and corn cob holders,” said Mark Mignosa, Hingham store manager, and co-owner of the business with his brother, Mike, who manages the grocer’s Milton, Mass., location.
“Folks are always asking us for creative new ideas for how and what to cook once the coals are hot,” he continued. “We’re confident that the south shore chefs you’ll meet at Fruit Center/Hingham this summer will provide food for thought -- and for lunch.”
This event is one of many such events held by the grocer. The grocer's Milton store features a full-service restaurant on its second floor that is open for lunch and dinner, and where the retailer hosts cooking demonstrations and wine tastings as well.
