Frieda's Brings Back Stokes Purple Sweet Potatoes

Frieda's Inc. is bringing back its popular Stokes Purple Sweet Potatoes for a third consecutive season beginning in late September.

California-grown Stokes Purple Sweet Potatoes have a purple skin and deep purple flesh, are high in antioxidants, non-GMO and have a low glycemic index. The offering will be available in organic and conventionally grown varieties.

“These tubers are extremely popular with shoppers for their gorgeous color and well-balanced flavors," said President/CEO Karen Caplan. "Additionally, fitness enthusiasts find Stokes Purple to be the perfect fuel for their healthy lifestyle, and they stock up on them.”

Los Alamitos, Calif.-based Frieda's has introduced more than 200 specialty items to U.S. produce departments, including Kiwifruit, Spaghetti Squash, Habanero Peppers, Black Garlic and Sunchokes, among others.
