FreshDirect Launches Grocer Delivery App for Dynamics ePlate

Online grocer FreshDirect has launched the first grocer payments application for the battery-powered Dynamics ePlate credit card device that lets consumers earn credits toward their groceries with every purchase.

When the FreshDirect experience application is selected on their ePlate device, a consumer will earn additional savings at FreshDirect, as they use their Dynamics ePlate credit card device for their everyday purchases.

“We’re teaming up with Dynamics Inc. to provide this one-of-a-kind experience application,” said Jason Ackerman, CEO of FreshDirect. “Now consumers can gain credits towards quality fresh foods just by making their daily purchases.”

ePlate is connected to an ecosystem of experience providers that each delivers an individualized brand experience, through an experience application, to the consumer.  Prior to a purchase, consumers select multiple experience applications on their smart phone, tablet, or computer to port to their ePlate device. At the time of purchase, the consumer can use different buttons on their ePlate device to select different experience applications.

“The FreshDirect experience gives consumers both quality and convenience,” said Jeff Mullen, CEO of Dynamics. “If a user does not have time to visit a grocer, that user can immediately begin to earn credits towards quality foods at FreshDirect by using the experience application.”

Dynamics Inc., founded in 2007 by Jeff Mullen, designs and manufactures intelligent battery-powered payment devices and advanced payment platforms. The company won the $1M People's Choice Award at DEMO Fall 2010, four Finovate Best of Show awards, and Best in Show for Personal Electronics at the 2011 International CES show.
