FreshDirect Introduces Unlimited Deliveries for Set Fee

NEW YORK -- Online grocer FreshDirect here has launched DeliveryPass, which allows customers to receive unlimited deliveries during a six-month period for a one-time fee of $99. The service covers residential deliveries throughout FreshDirect's designated service area.

DeliveryPass holders can also use FreshDirect's Reserve Delivery Time feature for exclusive access to preferred delivery slots. Shoppers can reserve a delivery window at any time -- up to a week before checkout -- or arrange for FreshDirect to hold a regular space for them each week.

Customers who purchase a DeliveryPass will additionally receive a coupon code for a free two-pack of FreshDirect's Grilled Thin-Crust Mozzarella Pizzas, valued at $15.99.

FreshDirect, which currently serves most of Manhattan and locations in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, as well as parts of New Jersey, Westchester, and Nassau County, has over 250,000 customers and has fulfilled nearly 5 million orders since it opened for business in September 2002.

In other e-retailing news, New York-based Kidfresh, which carries prepared meals and grocery items specifically aimed at children, has introduced online ordering and delivery in Manhattan.

Customers can now order products using the company's online shopping page, with a full online store to follow shortly, according to the company, which so far operates a single store, at 1628 2nd Avenue, between 84th and 85th streets. After filling out the form provided online, shoppers can choose to place an order by phone, fax, or e-mail. There are no minimum orders, and daily delivery service is available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Through March 31, customers can spend $30 on their first online order and get $10 off their total.
