FreshDirect Gives Customers Chance to Win Free Turkey Day Dinners
Online grocer FreshDirect has kicked off a “Thanksgiving Feast Giveaway,” which enables one in every 100 customers ordering a complete chef-prepared Thanksgiving dinner to win the holiday meal at no charge.
“For years our customers have depended on FreshDirect to deliver all the necessities for a sumptuous and affordable Thanksgiving feast for their friends and family,” noted Monica Woo, chief marketing and strategy officer at Long Island City, N.Y.-based FreshDirect. “This year, to thank our customers, we have launched the Thanksgiving Feast Giveaway.’ Every 100th customer who orders a chef-prepared Thanksgiving feast will enjoy it for free, compliments of FreshDirect. We expect enthusiastic response from customers.”
FreshDirect’s online Thanksgiving Central section features a vast assortment of whole fresh and frozen turkeys, including organic, all-natural and smoked varieties; “Turducken,” a Cajun dish consisting of a semi-deboned turkey stuffed with a boneless chicken breast, as well as a boneless duck breast filled with cranberry stuffing; and prime beef, veal and pork selections.
Thanksgiving Central additionally provides one-click recipes and tips on deals to help customers save time and money for the holiday. The grocer’s QuickShop tool allows customers who shopped in past years can easily reorder from their previous Thanksgiving shopping list.
The chef-prepared, heat-and-serve option offers a seasoned turkey, a choice of stuffing, four side dishes, gravy, cranberry sauce, soft dinner rolls and dessert items, all delivered direct to customers’ doors. Prices start at under $20 per guest. A small Thanksgiving Dinner serving four to six, costs $149.99; a medium Thanksgiving dinner, serving eight to 12, costs $199.99; and a large Thanksgiving Dinner, serving 14 and 18, costs $299.99. Winners will be chosen from all valid entries received, on or about Nov. 30, 2009, by FreshDirect employees, whose decisions are final and binding. Each winner will be notified and will receive a credit for the cost of the dinner on their account by Dec. 11, 2009.
