FreshDirect Expands Tabla Meal Line

Internet grocer FreshDirect has added three new entrée selections to its Tabla line of 4-Minute Meals. Created with celebrity chef Floyd Cardoz of Tabla restaurant in New York, which specializes in cutting-edge New Indian cuisine, the meal line enables customers to enjoy a fine-dining experience at home.

The new entrées are Masala-Spiced Macaroni With Creamy Spinach & Paneer, a vegetarian meal, for $6.99; Vegetable Curry With Pistachio Brown Rice, also vegetarian, for $6.99; and Chicken Coconut Curry With Basmati Rice for $7.99.

“These delicious meals are perfect for busy New Yorkers who seek restaurant-quality ingredients but want to enjoy the meals from the comfort of their home, office or anywhere there is a microwave,” noted FreshDirect director of research and development Tina Bourbeau, “They can even be served at a dinner party for unsuspecting guests -- from microwave to table in just four minutes!”

The additions bring the number of Tabla 4-Minute Meals items currently available to 10: seven ready-to-cook entrees and three side dishes. The line is exclusive to FreshDirect.

Long Island City-based FreshDirect serves most of Manhattan and locations in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx, as well as parts of New Jersey, Westchester, and Nassau County.
