FreshDirect Expands Deliveries to New Jersey’s Bergen County

Online grocer FreshDirect has added New Jersey's Bergen County to its delivery zones as part of the expansion of its service area in the Garden State. Orders for delivery to towns in the county are now accepted on the company’s website.

Over 600,000 customers in New York metropolitan area already use FreshDirect. In October and November 2010, the grocer began servicing 29 communities in New Jersey’s Essex and Union counties. As Bergen County has more than 30,000 residents, the current expansion is the company’s biggest to date.

“We've been well received in parts of Hudson, Union and Essex counties,” noted Richard Braddock, CEO and chairman at Long Island City, N.Y.-based FreshDirect. “We’ve seen a strong demand for our services in Bergen County.”

Among the grocer’s offerings are everyday low prices, daily and weekly deals of fresh foods and brand-name items, “Buy Big” family packs and bulk purchases, a Budget Tracker to enable customers to keep track of spending while shopping, the “Quick Shop” tool to make shopping faster and more economical, daily 5-star Quality Ratings for produce, more than 80 4-Minute Meals prepared fresh daily from exclusive recipes by famous New York chefs, a new 10-SKU line of Frozen Entrees, 500-calorie Smart and Simple meals and vegetarian Eating Well selections.

FreshDirect’s service area includes most of Manhattan, locations in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx, and parts of New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester and Nassau County.
